Responsible Gambling

Tools, warning signs and free help for players in India.

Sports betting and casino play should sit in the same mental category as a cinema ticket: money spent on entertainment, with a limit decided in advance. For most people it stays there. For some it drifts, and the drift is usually gradual. This page sets out the tools 1Win provides, the signs that betting is becoming a problem, and where to get free, confidential help in India.

Basic rules for safer play

  • Fix a budget before logging in and treat it as already spent. Never bet with borrowed money or money meant for bills.
  • Set a time limit. Live betting and crash games move fast; an evening disappears quickly.
  • Do not chase losses. A losing day is normal. Raising stakes to win it back is how small losses become large ones.
  • Avoid betting when tired, upset or after drinking.
  • Keep betting separate from income. It is not a job or an investment.
  • Be open about it. Hiding your betting from family or friends is itself a warning sign.

Warning signs

  • You regularly spend more time or money than planned.
  • You have borrowed, sold something or dipped into savings to bet.
  • You think about betting during work or family time, or feel restless when you cannot play.
  • You have lied about how much you bet.
  • Betting has affected sleep, work, studies or relationships.
  • You bet to escape stress or low mood.
